Bridal Show: The National Bridal Show

This season, we took the plunge, the BIG plunge and registered for the National Bridal Show, at the Direct Energy Centre. This was a huge opportunity for us…albeit a bit scary, as we knew that the number of brides who attended this show was in the thousands! it would be a BUSY weekend!

The National Bridal Show, on Jan 27-29 was the last show in January for us, so we were pretty seasoned on our booth and our new collection!

What a great show this was! We met lots of great new vendors, ate lots of icing from our friends at Bite Me Bakery and chatted with so many lovely brides!

Thanks to everyone who came to meet with us, tried on some of our pieces and have contacted us in the days since! We hope to meet with many of you that we met that fantastic weekend!

Creative: Invitation Accent With Paper Damsels

We met Michelle of Paper Damsels last year when we were inquiring to vendors about different bridal shows in the Toronto Area. We hit it off right away and kept in touch over the past year. Back in the fall, Michelle contacted me about a photoshoot she was doing with Rachel A. Clingen – noted Toronto Wedding Designer.

Michelle was looking for a beautiful feather fascinator to add as an accent piece to an invitation box that she was designing for this shoot. We consulted and created a beautiful Merlot Whimsical Fascinator accented with Gunmetal Fresh Water Pearls and Crystals. The results were gorgeous!

Blushing Brides & Television Appearance: 4 Weddings Canada – Jessica

We were so stoked when we found out that one of our beautiful Brides – Jessica was on 4 Weddings! It was a big surprise, as we didn’t know this was happening. One day, I was home sick – yes, Milliners get sick too! – and I just happened to change the channel to 4 Weddings Canada and there was our bride Jessica!!

Jessica looked gorgeous, and smartly did not reveal to her competition that she was in fact a Wedding Planner for Silverberry Occasions. We were elated when Jessica won the competition and got a honeymoon to Turks and Caicos! Amazing

And here are some beautiful Photos of Jessica from her Big Day, as she is one of our Blushing Brides. We loved designing for Jessica! She was recommended to us by Karen of Bow Ties and Buttercream, who is also Jessica’s partner at Silverberry Occasions. Jessica was looking for a beautiful shantung flower to go with her gorgeous dress. We created this piece custom for Jessica, and she totally rocked it!

Leaving the Nest: Gorgeous Veil and Taffeta Flower

Blushing Bride – Ida

We met Ida last spring. She had a vision and a dream for a show stopping fascinator that went perfectly with her Dina Alonzi dress. We consulted and designed a couple of beautiful fascinators for her big day and she chose this gorgeous Pleated Crin Ivory and Black Fascinator, which we appropriately named, Lady Ida.

In addition to making this beautiful piece for the lovely Ida, we also made a beautiful grey crystal comb for her mother and and a Black and Ivory Fascinator for her Made of Honor.

What an absolute beautiful site she was on her wedding day! Thank you Ida for letting us be a part of it!

We were beyond words, when we found out that our gorgeous fascinator – Lady Paris graced the pages of Wedluxe Magazine’s – S/S12 Issue. When we found out, we ran to the store to buy a copy! No lie, a few tears were shed. Seeing one of my favourite pieces in one of the most elegantly beautiful magazines around, was literally a dream come true.

Victorian Vintage – Naz Films

When we shot the Victorian Vintage Collection back in September, we were so thrilled to learn that Nazar Melconian of Naz Films would be on location to shoot a Super 8mm for our Photographer Tara West, little did we know that Naz was going to put together a stunning teaser video of our shoot. Naz surprised me with this video on Feb 17, and the tears just flowed. Naz captured the absolute essence of the collection and the shoot and I was blown away by the tremendous gift that he had presented to me.

Naz comes HIGHLY recommended by me if you are looking for something so incredibly unique for your wedding day, honey moon, engagement shoot, birth, or whatever you believe deserves to be documented in such a creative, beautiful way.

Thank you Naz, words truly can’t express the love that I have for the beautiful work you have created.
